About KLASSCI

A student information system holds pupil records, the grades that decide whether a student moves up a year, and money that families often pay in instalments across a school year. A head of institution considering handing us all of that is entitled to know who we are before signing. This page answers that question — and flags what it cannot yet establish.

Who publishes KLASSCI

KLASSCI is a product of African Digital Consulting, a company based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. The publisher is named in the footer of every page on this site and in the site's publication metadata.

KLASSCI is not a badge resold by an integrator: the team that writes the software is the team that installs it, trains its users, and answers when something goes wrong. There is nobody between the institution and the workshop.

Since when

The first institutions were onboarded from 2023 onwards. The product therefore does not come from a specification written at a distance: each capability was built in response to a situation observed in a working institution — a grade entry session that never finished, payment reconciliation done by hand, a report card that did not come out in the format the supervising ministry expected.

That history also explains choices other vendors do not make: a separate database per institution, pages designed to hold up on a slow connection, and a public enrolment portal that works from a phone.

Who we work for

KLASSCI is used by higher education and secondary institutions in Côte d'Ivoire. The schools shown as references on the home page are named, together with their approximate enrolment:

We do not publish an aggregate headline figure of the "N schools, N students" kind. That number cannot be verified from the outside — ours no more than a competitor's — and our own buyer's guide advises against relying on it. The check that is worth something is to ask for named institutions of a size comparable to yours, and to call them. We provide them on request.

What we know how to do

The product covers the full life of an institution's academic year, and the team knows the regulatory ground that goes with it:

• The LMD system of the UEMOA area — teaching units, constituent elements, credits, semesters, compensation, examination boards.
• Report cards and transcripts in the formats Ivorian authorities expect, with averages, ranks and honours computed rather than re-keyed.
• School accounting — fee categories, instalment plans, collections, reminders, receipts, financial statements.
• Attendance, recorded during the session from a phone.
• Timetables and teaching-hour tracking, planned and then measured against what was actually delivered.
• Online enrolment and re-enrolment, open to families from this site.

Three editions exist depending on the type of institution: university and higher education, secondary school, and online learning.

What we publish, and why

We publish three verifiable things, because that is the only form of proof that survives being read by a head of institution who has already been let down by a vendor:

• Sourced regulatory guides — opening a private institution, the LMD system, computing averages. Every regulatory statement is tied to the text that carries it, and points that no public source settles are flagged as such rather than filled in with a guess. These guides are published in French, the language of the regulations they analyse.
• Product documentation, in French and English, including the API reference and the changelog.
• A dedicated security page describing the actual architecture, limits included, rather than a list of reassuring adjectives.
